Fair Game

Fair Game

Breaking my vow to avoid depressing films, I watched Fair Game with Sean Penn as Joe Wilson and Naomi Watts as Valerie Plame. An excellent film flawed by a preachy wrap up, it records for history the illegal and unethical acts of the GWB White House in this shameless act. The betrayal of the USGovt did not destroy them, but instead made them heroes, but only because Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame are brave enough and believe in the Constitution. They could have been steamrolled into obscurity, rather they worked to tell the truth at a cost to their own lives. Sean Penn and Naomi Watts are admirably transformed into Joe and Valerie with such realism that it is easy to forget this is a movie. 4 out of 5 because the wrap up annoyed me.
